The last part of the saga of boy wizard has been accused of stealing a design by Alexander McQueen operator for an important scene from the film. It is normal film costume designers are inspired by models haute couture and ready-to-wear presented by major international designers on the runways, but in this case the simple inspiration goes beyond and reaches the blatant copying.
The design takes in the movie, the character of Fleur Delicious, played by actress Clemency Poesy, and it is a dress with ruffled skirt and a white organza black lace body whose motive are two phoenixes facing rising to neckline and form the shape of a heart with two heads.
Tammie, who was also responsible for the costumes for the series in the three previous deliveries, for which he received several awards and nominations, and films such as Bridget Jones: The Edge or Copying Beethoven explained that these animals were chosen because “they are eternal, as love.” The only change relative to the deceased McQueen dress, belonging to the Autumn-Winter 2008-2009, are birds that decorate the dress, which in the original case are two peacocks, long and lightweight tulle covering the neck to the neck and back.
